Kayla and Mason's story was a rough one with cliffhangers in the first two books. Alley Ciz made up for it and then some with their conclusion though. The chemistry between this couple is off the charts with sizzling scenes that make you fan yourself. Alley was able to write Mason so that he was possessive without being controlling or domineering which just speaks to how good of any author she is.

Their whole story is one with such strong family themes and their relationship is about putting the other first and making decisions to help each other, not hinder. The relationships between not just Mason and Kayla, but the friendships and family connections made this a story I absolutely loved and I am so glad I finished out theirs.

I'm so excited to reach the next story, but I highly highly recommend the U of J series!!

I have several authors I enjoy reading, a few who I make a note when they have a new release coming out and just one or two I plan my life around getting my hands on their next book and locking myself away until I’ve read the last word. Alley’s kicked things into an even higher gear for us by making us crave the next book in the U of J series and book 3 was worth the wait after that heart stopping cliffy at the end of book #2!

Mase/Caveman/Casanova and Kay/Skittles/PF are amazing in this book - they each put the other first and keep things interesting and lively. The whole gang of side characters feel like my people and that I’m among friends. I’m so looking forward to each of their future books.

Sit back and enjoy the romance, laughs, some surprises and steamy scenes as you dive right back into this awesome U of J world.

I received an ARC from Alley and am voluntarily leaving a review. I am thrilled to be on her ARC team just to get my hands on her fantastic books before the release date.

🏈 Playing For Keeps 🏈 (Book 3 in the U of J series) by Alley Ciz

ℝ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘: 4 ⭐️; 2.5 🌶️

𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:

🏈 Let me just get out of the way that this still was an amazing read, and I love how it wraps up Kay & Mason’s main story, however I felt it was longer than it needed to. There were a lot of moving parts in this finale of their HEA, and honestly, by the end it felt super rushed to clean up plot holes or missing pieces. I honestly felt like really big pieces of the plot just barely got addressed or overlooked and no details into them - all the while we are getting massive details on the outfits each of them wear - it seemed to take away from the story for me so that’s why I gave it 4 ⭐️.

🏈 I really enjoyed Kay’s character a little bit more book by book and I enjoyed that she really did come into her own. Like a breath of fresh air.

🏈 Mason of course is the playboy turned lovesick fool and we all love those! It was awesome to see him really put his foot down when it came to his family and how he was being treated I really liked that.

🏈 Overall, this is a great series and I’m so thankful the first book was sent as part of my sisterhood of the traveling books!

If you thought you had seen Mase at his most caveman think again. He topped the charts in PFK. There is not a thing that man won’t do for his Skit.
Also, please don’t let the fun-size fool you because Kay is a rider for her man and it’s safe not to test it.
Alley Ciz once again brought heat hot enough to burn through my kindle...that one scene in the...where he...where they...holy mother of hotness and sexy times. *fans self*
Playing for Keeps has entertainment from A to Z, laughs, sweet dreamy romance, and game days that make you feel like you’re live and center in the stands and not lost in pages of a good book. And of course, Miss Ciz wouldn’t be the evil mistress we know and love if she didn’t leave us wanting more.
I’ll just be here patiently impatiently waiting for 2021 for more to come in the world U of J.

This was a great conclusion for Mason and Kayla and i enjoyed it although I would loved to see Liam get what he deserved. I still have questions bout a few things but I am hoping we will get answer to them in more stories of this crew.

Ever since the crazy cliffhanger from Game Changer I’ve been impatiently waiting for the conclusion of Mason and Kayla’s story! My favorite part was the growth of Mason throughout the series. I loved how Mase and Kay were able to trust each other and finally be able to completely open up to each other. The chemistry between them is even hotter in this book. I love the strong family bonds that developed between the two groups of friends and how they are always there for each other no matter what. This one was my favorite in the series. I’m sad to see Mase and Kay’s story over but can’t wait to see what Alley has in store for us for the rest of the U of J crew.

The U of J series is now my favourite series to read. Playing For Keeps is the perfect ending to Mason and Kay's story. It's hard to put into words how much I enjoyed this book and series. It's very rare I'm left speechless from a book and Alley has achieved that yet again.
I'm only disappointed we won't get more of them. Alley has definitely redeemed herself due to those cliffhangers in Looking To Score and Game Changer.
