This book was fantastic, one of the better books of 2022.

This book was such an easy read for me. I love Danny's mom! What a bad ass

The writing is so-so. The story kept me going, but I finished it with the feeling that it could have been better.

City on Fire was the first Don Winslow Novel I’d ever read and I can say I was impressed . From a fan of crime in film and book , It’s great to see that Winslow is able to merge the action of crime movies into a written format without losing any of the thrill factor that come from watching such movies in the big screen. If you’re a fan movies like The Departed or Goodfellas and want to have the same enjoyment reading a book this one is for you . Also can’t wait for the sequel to arrive !

Outstanding conversion of the Iliad into a 1980s gangland thriller, by a master of US crime writing.

This was a fast-paced, wild ride that read just like the Goodfellas script. How have I never heard of Don Winslow before? I'll definitely be checking out his other titles!
