I just love the relationships in Sawyer Bennett's books. When Bishop and Brooke get caught in a compromising position in front of Brooke's father, she lies and says they're engaged. But during the course of their fake relationship, their feelings become real.
Great heat between the main characters (🌶️🌶️🌶️) but also a lot of heart, which is a Sawyer Bennett characteristic. She makes you wish most of her main male characters were real, and Bishop is no exception.

A quarter of the way through this audiobook, I paused my listening and looked up the rest of this series. I'm looking forward to reading the stories of several other characters mentioned in this book.
I enjoyed this author's writing style very much. The premise was great, the characterization was done well and the story flowed well throughout the book. There were no boring lulls and the sex scenes were seamlessly weaved in to the story. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was apparent from the very beginning. I definitely recommend this book to any fan of sports romance novels.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Half a point less than a full five stars is because I think the plot device that comes in the form of Nanette feels a little bit forced. There are other ways to set up a potential conflict for our main couple. Didn't take away the fun of the story from me though, I still devoured the book in just one sitting.

Contemporary romance via Chirp audiobook deal? Yes, please! Hockey romance? Sign. Me. Up. I didn't read much of a synopsis except for "hockey romance" to bite on this deal.
Bishop is part of the newly franchised professional hockey team, the Arizona Vengeance. The new team has a lot to prove and the guys spend a night out before preseason camp starts getting to know one another and meeting women of course. Bishop considers himself pretty fortunate when he talks to a woman who quickly picks him up for a night of fun. He knows this one night stand with Brooke will go down in history for him as the best he's ever had. He doesn't expect to see her again so he's shocked when he sees her in a team office and sees it as a sign. He's just making a move when in barges his new coach and her father. Thinking quick, Brooke calls Bishop her fiance and says she didn't think he dad was ready to know about their new relationship so quickly after her mom passed... And it's off to the races. Together, the two act like an engaged couple, but how long can they keep this charade up?
This was a lot of pretty graphic sex in the beginning, all narrated by Bishop. He was such a player and so frank about it that it was a little unnerving. I didn't care for that part of it. Aside from that, it was an ok story. Not really riveting but entertaining.

I am so excited about this new series from Sawyer. This may be the best book that she's ever written. I couldn't put it down. I only hope that the rest of the series will be as amazing as the start of it has been!

Ich liebe ja Sports Romance und Eishockey gehört mit zu meinen Liebsten.
Von der Autorin kannte ich bis jetzt noch nichts, daher war ich neugierig.
An sich hat mir die Geschichte gefallen, nur manchmal fan dich leider die Szenen etwas sehr sprunghaft.
Die beiden Charaktere haben mir gefallen und es war amüsant zu lesen wie sie sich mit ihrer Misere versuchen zurecht zu finden. aber da ja das körperliche zwischen ihnen überhaupt kein Problem ist, finden sie sich doch recht schnell in ihre Rolle rein.
Im Großen und Ganzen hat mir zwar die Geschichte gefallen, hat sich aber paar Klischees bedient, die auf ein paar Nebencharaktere bedient wurden.
Mir hätte ein wenig mehr Tiefe gefallen bei den Charakteren, da hat mir was auf deren emotionalen Ebene gefehlt. Ansonsten waren sie wirklich sehr sympathisch gewesen.
Ich werde die Reihe aber weiter verfolgen, da mich interessiert was aus den anderen Charakteren wird.
