Като всеки сборник с разкази и тук ситуацията беше 50/50. Имаше такива, които много ми харесаха, а имаше и такива, които хич не ми допаднаха. Но никога не отказвам доза Атууд, така че съм доволна.

Some of the stories are a hoot while others are not so good. If you are a die-hard fan you'll probably disagree. My preference are for her novels.

Loved this. But as others of my book club might not have finished it yet, instead of a review, I will write my word-list for this book. (After finishing a book I go through, flipping to pages at random and pointing at one word, then doing it again and find another. This generates word pairs that I put on a list, which somehow, magically perhaps, represents the feel of the work.)

If you're looking for 'normal' short stories, this collection isn't it. Some are like dreams, others a stream of thought. All are deeper than their brevity suggests, thought provoking and surprising. A masterpiece in showing the larger story through inference.

Ce genre de littérature qui me fait sentir intelligente: me laisse résoudre ses énigmes en donnant juste assez d’indice. Et parce que mon intellect et mon imagination sont en marche, cela ne rend que plus consciente la lecture.
