More of the same, a good example of the book equivalent of a sunday afternoon film. Pure escapism mixed with a decent dose of history to provide a great trip into the past.
It’s a long time since I read the second book in this series so I’d sort of forgotten how good it was. The fight scenes all ring true and the characters are compelling. Yes, it’s gory in places but then so was life back then. I enjoyed it and I recommend it.

Leave Beocca Alone!!! Excellent series I’m enjoying every bit of this. Maybe a little repetitive in how it’s told and in some other places but it’s so fun. Also gnarly deaths. I definitely wasn’t expecting what happens in this book
These are just getting better and better. However, one drawback here: only one poor map for reference. Gah! So while the adventures were well-written, I'd have liked a good map (like in the first two books) to follow.
