Another reliable addition to the series. Poor old Uhtred - things really were going well for him for once so had to throw a couple of obstacles at him, just to make things interesting. Bring on number 4.

This is the first book in the series whose events were not in some way portrayed in the first season of the BBC America series. I enjoyed have no idea what was going to happen. Of course, since Uhtred is telling the story as an old man, you know he isn't going to be killed in any of the battles, but it's still interesting to see how he manages to get out of all the situations he finds himself in.
