fangecellent

A fangtastic development of the story. We got to see our newest male lead take center stage to get a book centered primarily to developing the world, Drac, and his relationship with Alina. The others are still around obviously but they definitely took a step in the story to let Drac have his moment to start truly developing. It seems like each book will have a more of a focus developing one of the guys as a character and their relationship with Alina, likely with a broader focus of the whole group saved for the final book. I loved seeing the moments of crossover in the storylines and the subtle mentions of events happening school wide.

Yep. I’m stopping at this book

I think I actually fell out of love with the relationships in this one. We were supposed to be team Dracula with this arc but it just didn’t quite hit.

It's been a long time since I last DNFd a book. I have this completionist mindset that doesn't allow me to leave things halfway done, but I just couldn't with this book. I chose my mental health.

"I always thought you and I were..."

Always? What is this "always" you speak of? You've known he for five minutes!!!! (Ok, maybe like a week, but still). I don't know if the book is asking me to suspend my disbelief for the sake of the porn or if it's just bad writing but I'm not staying to figure it out.

Characters: Badly developed. They have the personality of a rock. Alina is that OC you wrote when you were 13 trying to self-insert yourself in Hogwarts but you couldn't decide if you wanted her to end up with Draco, Harry or Sirius (yes, I'm speaking from experience. I've written my reverse-harem HP fanfiction too). The males are just dull.
The plot: Nonexistent. You family has been killed? Don't worry, I guess masturbating will fix it. You are mated with three dudes? Well, God gave you so many holes for a reason. Why have plot when you can have sex?

I don't have anything against PWP stories (again, I read fanfic), but I'm disappointed and frustrated because this series had a very good premise. However, it was trumped due to the minimal length of the books and the subpar writing.

I guess Sherrilyn Kenyon is keeping the top spot for long paranormal romance series for me.

4.5 ⭐️ So much turmoil within her and I can see why.. lean one way and one side will hate you. Lean the other and the others will want your death. But which side has the truth? Which side is kind? Which side can you put your mask down safely? The ending was pretty sad tho I gotta say.. poor Andrei. Can’t wait to see what happens next, she had her time of vulnerability now I wanna see her kickass
