This book makes my soul happy. I LOVE when characters prove their reputations wrong. I have a funny feeling I know how this is all going to play out but MAN I’m here for the ride.

im too far in now, i gotta see this through

So I really enjoyed this book for what it was! I was definitely expecting it to last longer and for more to be accomplished within this first book, but that isn't even affecting my rating because I did love everything that happened in it! I loved the characters. I loved the premise. I loved the sweet side characters who I'm hoping to learn more about. I love the intrigue in this book and the fact that the campus is under attack from what seems to be multiple sides. I also love the chess analogies and how Sanguis is the "board" and each member of the council is a player/piece on the board! I do wish that these were maybe combined because the books feel too short and almost like they are just part 1 and part 2 of a single novel. I can't wait for Andrei's father to die a horrible death, preferably by Lo's hand because she is amazing and I want to see her kill someone. I can't wait to see more of Bex (hopefully) and Alexandra before I read their stories! And I'm immediately jumping into the next one!

Easy to read, definitely better than the first book

Wow

Wow.. Can I join the war cause just wow that man is vile absolutely vile.

Ugh I have a feeling Andrei isn't gonna be likeable for the foreseeable future.

Aside from that I love these books and can't wait to see what happens next.

Ok I see you R.L Caulder and your Blood Oath series, you have officially made me an addict with this story. I am absolutely loving Alina and her guys! And the plot in this one is full of twists and turns that kept me wanting more! I was totally team broody grump professor Lincoln but the jury is still out on if someone new is coming to take the spot light! Bring on book 3!

getting way more ridiculous.
350+ pages and barely anything happen.
