Not only is this gorgeous, but it's hearwrenching and powerful. There's so much depth that I wasn't expecting; I'm glad I've got the second volume already!
This was pretty cool! The art and coloring is magnificent. There were some parts that were what I would expect to happen, but some things that were out of left field. Look forward to more.
Overall my main issue is that I want more. Not a bad thing overall. But I feel like the information we got could've been spread out more. It would've created more tension. More world building in the beginning would've been nice since it's futuristic. There were a lot of elements that were done well, but can stand well on their own and deserve more time.
Update: now that I'm away from the story more I realize I don't have an urge to continue.
Slightly more detail thoughts
Just wondering: Why is it always that a parent keeps a secret from the child for their own good? That never works out. They'll never be satisfied with 'Because I told you so' and get themselves into trouble trying to find their missing piece.
Her relationship with Lola is complicated. I mean you'd do anything to help someone in that situation, but it also puts a lot of pressure on Lola. She'd feel responsible and remain attached when they're probably apart for a reason.
I liked this futuristic world. I thought the racing aspect was cool. I always appreciate good family dynamics and queer relationships.
I think it was super cool shes something different. My mind went to alien immediately, but who knows. Also I'm super dumb cause I trusted the mysterious rider and was hoping she met up with him to get some answers. I would've gotten myself killed in her shoes.
Also the part when Len (?), the beginning helper dude, was killed it turned the tone around. Although I kinda thought it'd be darker and she's be more affected by seeing a murder.
