This book was ok for me. I wanted to love it but just didn't I'm not exactly sure why.
This was light and fun, not too overwrought with the teen drama. Lots of fun travel stuff. Also loved the main character developing her sense of self-worth. Wish I was going to England, no need for the Hot British Boyfriend though.

Hot British Boyfriend by Kristy Boyce is a book I am glad that I finally got around to read.
Elle needs a break after embarrassing herself on video throwing herself over a guy who didn’t want her. The solution? Study abroad a semester in Europe. Early on, Elle meets Will, an older real estate lover, who she can’t resist hiding her real self from. But when others start questioning her motives and friendships start to form through the program, is Elle able to resist her hot British boyfriend and all his charms?
I enjoyed the side character friendships that Elle made and the journey she went on throughout the novel. Elle’s quirks reminded me of some interests I still have and how the need to be true to oneself is important. While Elle’s relationship with Will took center stage, there was another relationship of hers that I wanted to come to the center throughout reading. Overall, I am interested in reading other novels that author Kristy Boyce may write.
Thank you Harper Collins Children’s and Netgalley for my earc in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

This was a fun, quick read! Pretty predictable but sweet.
This book was ok it had its moments of cute and happy goo but unfortunately it also fell a little off. This book felt unnecessarily preachy with the shining example of a perfect student held above all else. The shade thrown at JK seemed out of place in the story almost apologetic for including a hp reference. All in all this lead to the main characters voice coming across as that of a well meaning but out of touch parent rather than that of a teen experiencing love and travel for the first time.
This was really cute and sweet. I liked the main character, Ellie, who didn't believe in herself and had a quirky hobby. Her growth felt believable, and I was rooting for her.
It has been a while since I read a book where I couldn't stand the main character. I really really really dislike Ellie. A lot. I really loved Sage and Dev, but miss me with Ellie's whole character and personality. It took me so long to read this book because I really just didn't like following her story. I liked the bits with the other characters. It's not that it was poorly written either. I just didn't like Ellie.
