Ehh.. I didn't hate it or anything but definitely fell flat. The only thing that kept me going was picturing The North Wind as Pitch Black from RotG and the anticipation that it'd pick up. Also, he's often unintentionally funny and I love it.

While I liked the writing, the plot and characters could have used some fine tuning. Again, don't hate it or love it, just kinda not impressed. Likely not continuing with the series.

Read this book on a recommendation as an alternative to
ACOTAR. Would not recommend reading these two back to back like I did... There is overlap. I think I might have enjoyed this more if I'd read it first, but who knows.
As an older sister myself I found the sister story line the most interesting thing about the storyline actually. One sister being "strong" and the other "perfect and in need of protection" has been done over and over again, but something about it felt unique here.

The romance, and the main story aech were well written, but ultimately didn't do much for me. I do wonder what else we'd get to learn about the world in the rest of the series though.

I’m not sure how to rate this as I loved the first half and the whole premise but it lost me towards the end. It went down hill around the time of the party for me and then felt rushed and random. I didn’t fully understand the world of why characters were acting in certain ways towards the end either. Also not keen on some of the ‘not like other girls’ vibes in places.
