I went into this being very familiar with Lebowitz, and her snark. And honestly enjoying it as well. But, this book was really all over the place, and at times it was a bit confusing and also a bit much.
That being said, there were some very enjoyable parts, and spending as much time in New York as I have, as long as I have, made it even more enjoyable than for a lot of other people I’m sure.
It was decent, but could have been a bit better if she reigned her snark in slightly. Been slightly more observational and less of a critique.

I reread this book after I saw Fran on The Tonight Show. She is and always will be the New Yorker's New Yorker. I lived vicariously in the 80's through Fran Lebowitz writings and enjoyed reading them again this time.

My intention was always to write an honest and detailed (and brilliant) review of this book, but since Miss Lebowitz has so brazenly appropriated my profile pic to use on its cover, knowing full well I have neither the money nor the persistence to drag us both through the court system, I am, regrettably, unable to remain impartial in my assessment. So let's just say that as books go—yes—it certainly is one.

Despite the hit or miss nature of this collection, Fran Lebowitz remains an eminent comedic voice.
From 3 of her essay collections. Many are dated, but they are still a really funny look at life in NYC.
