it was really funny, and i liked how niche the observations were. it was very hard to get through, so i liked that you could skip around a little bit

I’m a big fan of Fran’s spoken word material – I could listen to her for hours, and did in fact pay good money to see her live. I feel like these essays would have been great 40 years ago when they were written but the style often feels dated (as you would expect). There are some gems amongst it all and I laughed a few times when that acerbic voice cut through. It’s one for the coffee table, to be snacked on rather than devoured.
