One for the cat lovers! A collection of anecdotes about the bond between Bowen and his cat Bob, this inspiring book is easy to dip in and out of and sheds much-needed light on the lives of people without secure housing.

I picked the first book about Bob up at a bookstore a few years ago and thought it was a very sweet story so when I stumbled upon the second one at the library, I had to read it. It's about a story about homelessness and addiction and how adopting a street cat positively impacted James' life. It's all in all quite touching and my only gripe with this one was the half a page where James launched into this explanation how he thinks it's okay that his cat goes outside and hunts birds and I was very not okay with that, but that's it.

4,5⭐️ for me this was not as good at the first one I think some of the stories are the exact same as the first book? But other than that it is really good! the end really made me cry when James got the question what he would do when Bob is gone. And he is gone now

Gav den första boken bara två men får ändra det för den är värd minst 3! Så viktig berättelse och lilla Bob är gulligast.

having been privileged to have met the man (and feline) behind these two wonderful books, I couldn't wait to get stuck into the latter. James Bowen writes unapologetically about his past troubles and provokes a lot of emotion when he talks about his unwavering relationship with Bob the Ginger Tomcat, whom he found injured in a doorway several years back, and with who he has been inseparable with ever since.

the second novel, The World According to Bob, talks of further adventures and finally taking that leap into writing a publishing a story of his life. Set against the backdrop of some of my favourite old London Haunts, James takes you on a day to day journey as a big issue seller and busker, with the most wonderful and well-deserved end to a story, if ever there was one.

the World According to Bob is heartfelt, heartwarming and a fantastic story of hope, survival against the odds and the most perfect and unlikely pairing of one man in recovery and his ever faithful cat.
