It’s difficult to judge a book of short stories, as naturally there are some to like better than others. However, I think the following is a general enough statement to apply to the entire book.
Veronica Roth is a genius of ideas, each world she created was unique, complex, and wild. Her writing is what lacks. So much telling, so many choppy thoughts; her worlds are so cool you have to keep reading, but the constant telling makes you sleepy.
Overall, I still liked the book and would tell you to read it if you’re looking for something quick to open your mind.

It was very hard for me to get into.
I picked up this book because I adored the Divergent series so much, but this book just didn't grab and hold my attention like I thought it would.
I'll have to try to read it again some day when I'm in the mood for something short and easy to read.

There were some stories in this I absolutely adored and others that failed to maintain my interest. For being brief excerpts, these short tales were very enjoyable and good. I can see that she has improved quite a bit.
It was hard to get into this. The first few stories were okay but generally not good enough to hold my interest. It had potential but just didn’t grab me like I hoped it would.
