Overall, a great series. I really thought this would be totally wrapped up in this volume, but at least I know how Bombshells: United relates now. . . glad I was already planning to read that next month.
Really liked all of the takes on the characters and backstories, and how diverse they were. Also encountered some new-to-me characters which was super fun - Frankie Charles, I love you.
Loved this quote from Kara: "One does not have to be exceptional to deserve to live." Nicely sums up the anti-eugenics message of the entire series.

Okay my earlier dismay with Harley's Harry Potter references are mitigated here since apparently Harley is a Deadpool-style fourth wall breaker with a Christian Bale joke. Still cringe that Bennett went for HP twice, but okay!
The Faora reveal is cool but I almost felt overwhelmed by how much backstory was dropped via said reveal. I guess that's a superhero thing tho? I was very delighted by the double-double reveal which sends the series into Power Ranger territory once more (I think when they emulate sentai shows the book works best).
Speaking of superhero things, if there's one thing I didn't like about this series was just that it was so relentless, we're always hopping from one place to another, the narration never ends, the monologues are always there, it's like... okay chill have a sit down! Hell, have a fist-fight without talking!
They managed with Diana and Kara's mourning last volume but sheesh, the superhero genre is a busy-busy one, I guess!
They're also almost fetishistic about NOT KILLING EVER, even if they're in a situation where non-lethally restraining a villain will literally cost three good guy lives. Not that I cared about the three people self-sacrificing but just from a character standpoint, even the most simpering liberal would be sympathetic with Kara just using the kryptonite dagger?

Unfortunately I think is the point where I'm going to have to drop this series. I really love the idea of it and it started fairly strong, but with each volume I like it less and become more impatient and confused. It's a fun girl power series, but it never focuses on the characters I'm actually interested in and it's easy to forget what is going on with some of them when we don't see them for 5 or 6 issues.
The Good
-amazing art
-cool character designs
-lots of awesome ladies
-lots of awesome BI/LESBIAN LADIES!
-punching Nazis
The Bad
-waaay too many characters
-many of whom i don't actually know anything about
-incredibly disjointed plot lines
-volumes that don't actually tell a complete story
-volumes that contain random issues out of order
-only really focus on about 4 characters out of 20 or so
-these are probably the 4 characters I am LEAST interested in #sorrynotsorry
-literally the 2nd volume in a row to have Harley and Ivy on the cover but not feature them at all in the book
It probably sounds like I'm being a bit nit-picky, but at this point I feel like I gave the series a fair chance and considering that they just introduced two more random characters in this volume I think I'm gonna have to let it go.

Well, I guess this ends Bombshells. It didn't seem to be any wildly climactic ending. But I guess most things were tied up. The great part of this series was seeing what they did with each of the characters. So, yay. I definitely loved this whole thing in general.
I think for DC fans this series is probably great, but personally I should have dropped it a lot sooner and only ended up reading this much because I like the author and kst kept leaving it on my pull-list.
It feels like it's heavily playing off the AU elements of these stories which completely makes sense and would be a lot of fun! If only I knew what the original stories were so I could be in on the fun. Occasionally I find myself smiling at a twist on the Supergirl story but for everyone else, I don't have the background knowledge. And that could be fine if it wasn't a team book with a million characters, but personally I am not a fan of superhero team books and movies in general for this very reason. It always feels like I'm only getting the briefest development with any character before being ripped to another storyline.

This is... kind of all over the place? This collectes #25 and #30-33? Which is just odd. I double checked and that's what's listed on DC's website.
Anyway, I enjoyed the first 2 volumes of this series (lack of women of color aside) but it just dipped for me and I'm not sure why? It went from managing multiple threads really well to getting bogged down with way too many. There's Batwoman's investigations, there's what's going on with Raven and Zatanna, there's what's going on with Mera and the water villain (?), there's what's going on with Supergirl, and from time to time Wonder Woman just shows up with Steve Trevor.
I like a lot of the themes in this series. I wish they'd made the black female characters matter (and I definitely wish they hadn't all just showed up and left before we really got to know them). I wish I'd gotten more of Shiera and Mari most of all.
Overall, I see a lot of good themes here but I don't love the execution.

Now I remember why I stopped reading these. All over the place and over the top. Even more so than most comics.
I really love this series, and I love the characters, but it is incredibly hard to follow. There are constantly more and more characters and villains being introduced and so many different story lines to follow. I want more back story for all the characters. I want to read more about vampire Batwoman and her coven of witches. I want more Poison Ivy and Harley. I feel like this series keeps tossing in new characters and I never really get enough of any one story. I really wish they would make some spinoff stories following various characters from this series, within this same style. Like obviously there are lots of Batgirl and Batwoman comic books, but I want more about these versions of the characters.
