Cute story, rather slow paced. Would be good for a small storytime.

Really sweet story about a boy who wants to catch his very own star. Love it. Matthew loved it too.
I remember classmates raving about Jeffers work years ago & totally get it with this one. Beautiful.

A lovely, gentle story from [a:Oliver Jeffers|173545|Oliver Jeffers|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1458057207p2/173545.jpg] that is filled with humour as well. I love the description of why he can't catch a rocket & the ending is perfect in its innocence.

This picturebook tells the story of a boy who is fascinated by stars and plots to try and catch one for himself. It is about learning that no matter how hard you try, stars cannot be caught but we can always appreciate their beauty and live with the knowledge the stars are watching over us.

Loved this story and the ending wasn't what I expected making it even better! You could involve kids in this so easily by having them give their own ideas of how to catch a star and what they would do with it if they caught one. Great intro to be able to talk to kids about perseverance as well. Love the relative simplicity of the pictures...
