I really enjoyed it! I personally found the chapters about war or politics a little bit slower, but that's just me, and they were still interesting and enjoyable. A really fun exploration, excellently written and will keep you turning pages.

Well written, thoroughly cited, and hilariously funny. Not to mention educational.

As a great fan of foot-note based humor, I can't find any faults in this book. Though I might suggest reading the Appendix chapter "A very short history of the classical world" first if (like mine) your knowledge of classical history is full of rusted gaps. But that's entirely up to you, and works either way.
