Interesting world
Enjoy how the protagonist isn't overpowered

Bought this for Lizzy and ended up reading it as well. I enjoyed it. It does have quite a few similarities to Harry Potter, but it is still pretty original and entertaining.

Reminded me way too much of Harry Potter. I am very disappointed as I was really looking forward to reading this book. A boy who´s raised without magic is attending a school for magic where he becomes friends with a boy and a girl and fights the evil. It took a long time until I wasn´t comparing "the Iron Trial" to Harry Potter anymore and was seeing the book as another story. But after that I quite liked the story. It is a nice read but often the book was a bit slow. For pages nothing really happened. The whole setting seemed like the authors were desperately trying not to copy Harry Potter, what ended up in a not quite logical world.
I was hoping for a book as good as the "city of bones"-series and was very disappointed to find another (nor really good) Harry Potter story.

3.5 - not bad at all and I’ll probably continue the series, but I just didn’t care about what was happening for most of the book. I only got hooked near the end.

Dosta decije. Nije mi se svideo nacin gradjenja likova + radnja je previse zbrzgano isla. Videla sam da ima nekoliko delova i stvarno mi se nije dalo da gubim vreme na ovo.

Blah, blah, blah magic. Blah, blah, blah child harboring the soul of dead evil leader. Eh, there are worse things you could read. On to book two!
