I ended up quite liking this one unexpectedly. I took it out from the school library just to see what it was about. I'm surprised more kids haven't read this one. It's like a mix of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson which I thought was kind of neat. I'm a fan of both Holly Black and Cassandra Clare, so it was cool to find out that they are friends and collaborated on this series. There's a good chance I will read the next one.
Really enjoyed this, the first in the series of the Magisterium. Great introduction to the characters and fantastical world of magic. I'm looking forward to reading the rest.
No me gustó demasiado. Muchos tópicos, poco original, y sus puntos fuertes no están del todo explotados... Pero le salva el final.

Overall, I enjoyed my time reading this book, but like most people, I noticed a lot of similarities with the Harry Potter series. If you put that aside, I was pleasantly surprised because of the ending. You would expect Callum to be The One, who was chosen to fight the Ennemy of Death, but it's not him. That's the first thing that surprised me, and I'm really happy about it. Of course, there is something wrong about Callum. I loved what it was. Mostly, the authors will make this serie an interrogation on good and evil, it is pretty obvious. I look forward to see where this serie is going - I liked the world, the magic system and the school of course and would like more development of them. See ya for Copper year, Callum!

Not going to lie, it took me a little while to get into this one, but once I did I couldn't put it down.
A part of me is hoping that Callum goes evil, because I think reading a book from a villian's point of view would be pretty awesome
