I didn't love this book - it lacked a lot of depth and although it was fairly easy to get through, I couldn't say it was good.

The insta love was pretty hard to get behind and I'm pretty sure the couple were fully together, mega in love and committed to each other within like 2 or 3 days.

The FMC had zero sense or self preservation. She moved to NYC from Australia after traumatic events happened there (I think she was held at gunpoint? But it's not really explored as that is from a previous book series that I have no interest of diving into) but was way too happy letting a strange man into her apartment on day 2 after he followed her. I don't know anyone who would be ok with that in general, but doubly so if you've just been held at gunpoint by criminals and we're so traumatised you had to move continents to get over it.

The MMCs mafia family is sort of developed, but it felt quite one dimensional and didn't make me interested. He's already engaged to another mafias daughter and it gets really messy with murder etc to get him out of that so he can be with the FMC. But again, I didn't care for them as a couple and it seems insane that he would be looking for a way out of his arranged engagement after only a few hours being around the FMC.

I won't be continuing with the series, and I'd recommend giving this a miss if you are looking for a good mafia romance!
