That was incredible, once I got into it, I honestly couldnt put the book down
this book was INSANE i am OBSESSED. on to the next, even if every book in this series is painfully long idc i love them every page is a blessing
3rd read, i think this was the time it felt a bit less than a 5 star but not enough for me to give it a 4 so... also i simply love this trilogy

SOLO PUEDO DECIR... MARAVILLOSO TRABAJO CASSANDRA, MARAVILLOSO.
Que mas podría decir de una escritora tan genial, el libro nos vuelve a llevar a los primeros libros cuando conocimos a Jace y Clary, personalmente sentí nostalgia de volver a leer un libro de cazadores de sombras, cuando hace ya varios años que me despedí de lo personajes que me cambiaron la vida y que me hicieron reír y llorar con sus ocurrencias. aunque el libro no esta basado en los personajes antiguos si que los mencionan mucho en este, para algunos puede ser un tanto fastidioso ver nombres tan familiares como: Jem, Tessa, Clary, Isabell, Simon, Alec, Magnus, incluso a nuestro adorado y difunto Max. Pero yo creo que es muy importante mencionarlos, porque no debemos olvidar que con ellos empezó todo y no solo eso, este es una nueva vida mas no un nuevo mundo, estarían presentes si o si. Ahora hablemos de nuestros personajes principales ( a quienes ya conocimos en el ultimo libro de cazadores de sombras) Emma, Julian, Tiberius, Drusila, Livvy , Octavian y Mark, a ellos los conocimos en la guerra oscura que tuvo como escenario la ciudad de Alacante, ellos del instituto de los Ángeles, lucharon con tan solo 12 años en una guerra donde murieron sus padres.
La historia esta ambientada unos 5 años después de la guerra oscura, ahora son adolescentes cazadores de sombras, lleno de responsabilidades, de secretos, de sufrimiento y sobre todo leyes muy duras. Creo que es poco decir que mi personaje favorito es Julian, un adolescente con todas las responsabilidades de un adulto, tiene que cuidar a sus hermanos, alimentarlos, aconsejarlos como si el no tuviera sus propios problemas, pero el ama tan incondicionalmente a su familia que acabaría con su propia vida por salvar la de ellos; ame este personaje y sus oscuros pero bien intencionados sacrificios y luego tenemos a Emma, ella es un poco difícil porque a perdido a sus padres y el único sentido que ha tenido su vida (aparte de Juls, que es su parabbatai) es encontrar al asesino de sus padres y es a lo único que se dedica, pelear, pelear, pelear por la justicia, tanto que se le olvido en gran medida todo lo que Julian ha tenido que pasar, no la culpo perder a sus padres debe ser muy difícil y sobre todo como ella los perdió, pero el sentido de tener un parabbatai es apoyarlo y sobre todo comprenderlo (cosa que Emma no hizo en esos 5 años) y para rematar la situación ambos se enfrentan a algo mucho mas difícil que todo lo demás EL AMOR PROHIBIDO POR LA CLAVE.
Conforme vayan leyendo el libro se darán cuenta de que la clave de los cazadores es muy dura y aveces muy injusta, yo los adoro, pero me recuerda a un gobierno corrupto.
Para no continuar y dejar que ustedes mismos exploren este nuevo libro solo diré: PERFECTO COMO SIEMPRE, CASSANDRA.

5 ⭐️ for vibes (4.5 in all reality for content and all that) Cassandra Clare puts something into her books that I will absolutely eat up every single time! Probably the same thing that’s in the vampire pizza… that’s all I can say without yapping for a literally month about it, sorry to anyone who asks me what I’m reading for the next calendar year or so

something about cassandra clare’s writing bothers me, but especially in this book. it’s like she’s trying too hard. like how everyone has 1 or 2 nicknames as if to prove to us that they’re a family & they’re close. or the way that cristina “prides herself on only speaking english when she’s in the us” but then constantly slips into spanish just…so we remember she’s mexican, i guess? or how it’s not enough to write ty with the intent of his being autistic, he has to be the most stereotypical autistic person in the entire world. (because otherwise we couldn’t figure it out…?) like it almost feels like she doesn’t trust her readers to use the information she gives them to figure things out. (she also does a lot of one of my least favorite things which is over-explaining things we ALREADY KNOW because this book is in a SERIES and people are reading it because they’ve READ THE OTHER BOOKS. i haaaaaate it.) i should probably give her some grace because i know the target audience is like…13 year olds. but still, it bothers me. also i don’t think she’s ever met a 7 year old because tavvy alternately acts like he’s 4 or like he’s 14.
nowwww as much as i am willing to criticize her i can also say DAMN she knows how to write characters i’m attached to. she’s soooo good at writing a character that’s just some guy but he’s also like (somewhat secretly) super tortured and tragic. and unfortunately i eat it up EVERY. TIME. like does she follow the exact same tropes in every spinoff series?? absolutely. every single time there is a forbidden romance and every single time one person deliberately pushes the other away to protect them and every single time there’s at least one love triangle and every single time i enjoy it as if i’ve never read anything like it ever before.
all this to say as many gripes as i may have with her writing i was of course immediately hooked. and oh my god, i love julian so much i would possibly die for him. if there’s one thing i can say for cassandra clare it’s that she knows how to inspire my deepest devotions and julian has them. the thought of a 13 year old boy calling his toddler brother “my baby” because he’s literally this 3 year old’s only guardian had me shedding several tears. wtf cassandra. after the will herondale situation i had hoped you were done breaking my heart. alas, she’s done it again. (and you better believe i will ALWAYS have tears springing to my eyes at a mere allusion to will herondale, of which there were several in this book.) i’m such a sucker for a sibling relationship and also for a best friendship and also for a tragic hero and this book delivered so hard on all fronts. i must applaud miss cassandra for knowing exactly what to write to make me instantly invested.
I am so happy that Clare has gone back to the place we first fell in love...the lands of the Shadowhunters. I inhaled this book. It was fantastic and I hope that it is rightfully suggesting the beginning of a new series of Shadowhunter stories. Bring them on Cassandra- bring them on! And fast, please!

Wowwwwowowoowowow this was so great!!! Definitely some of Cassie’s best and most sophisticated books. I cried and then was happy and then cried some more. Ending left me wreck. Can’t wait for book 2!!
