Very short novella, but it does give some important background into Cinder's beginnings.

This is a prequel short story to Cinder that gives the reader a look at Cinder's back story and how she came to live with her step family. I enjoyed getting a peek at a younger Cinder and reading about her initial impressions of her family, her life as a cyborg and learning about her talents and abilities.

Short and sweet - interesting enough.
I never expect to be blown away by a novella, so I wasn't surprised nor disappointed by this. Glitches a good introduction to the series, with fluid writing and mildly interesting characters.
I'm really intrigued by this world, and hope to read Cinder in a few weeks.

I’m glad Marissa wrote this, it cleared up a few things. And oh my god is it Cinder’s fault Garan caught the plague? I bet it is. Stars, this made me miss Peony. Sweet little Peony. My little pony Peony. Why didn’t Pearl die instead? That little brat. lmao jk peace out

4.5 también. Me hubiera gustado haber visto a Cinder interactuar más con todo. Garan me gustó mucho tho.

This gives such an amazing in-depth view of how Cinder "belonged" (

Just a short little story, but oh how much I love Cinder. That poor child. I thought I felt bad for her during the series, but this takes place with her at the age of 11 and it just breaks my heart. That poor girl and the crap that's been dealt to her.
