This classic has been on my TBR list for years. I switched between the audiobook read by C.M. Hebert and reading it on the Libby library app. There were some delightful bits and a few chapters I could have done without (lots of cutsie children play described in overt detail).
I thought that Jo’s character developed maternally in a beautiful way. She used her flare for drama and writing to enrich the boys’ lives at Plumfield and joined them in play on a number of occasions.
I came away with encouragement in parenting my boys from this book. Lots of optimism about fostering young boys with imagination and vigor.

As a mothers of only sons, this book spoke straight to my heart. I adored this book, its characters, and the wonderful world of Plumfield. This is one I will definitely reread and return to often.
This was such a wonderful follow-up to Little Women! I loved getting to see what everyone blossomed into. Also, the idea of having a school to help raise boys is just such a wonder idea to me!
I think having a son of my own definitely made the stories in the book resonate even more. I can definitely see my son being another version of Tommy when he's older. Loa.
I also love getting to see how things worked back then as compared to now! It was so much more simple of stuff (while definitely harder in some ways) than what we deal with today. Kids could go outside and play and use their imaginations and nobody told them any different!
Obviously this is a 5 star book to me because it's such a beautiful classic. I can't wait to read the last one!!

A to Z Reading Challenge: A title that begins with the letter L.
Not a bad listen, although “Little Women” is my favorite so far.
