I enjoyed this book for the same reason I enjoyed Little Women ... the plot is meandering and by no means compelling, but it's a leisurely read that instantly transports me to childhood. The characters are endearing, the March family familiar, and the writing sweet but not insipid. A great choice to refresh my brain before dipping back into more challenging reads.

After re-reading Little Women I was inspired to read this one...I've had my aunt's set of Louisa May Alcott books for nearly 20 (?!) years and have, until now, only read Little Women! This made for pleasant before-bed reading. :)

Sweet. Funny. Heartwarming. But hello. Look at the material. Louisa May is that girl.

Jo just seems so perfect in this sequel but it's a wonderful read none the less. I think I was hoping to see Jo in all her previous glory (not perfectly) become a wife and mother.

Both this and Jo's Boys kind of piggybacks off the nostalgia of Little Women. It is good, but not great and I liked it because I can see the characters I grew up with again
