I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was well written and very sweet. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was that it was a sequel and the author assumes you know certain things about certain characters. Having not read Little Women, I found some parts confusing. I suggest reading Little Women first. This book, however, offers readers a wholesome story that is very enjoyable.

This was a nice cozy book, and Louisa May Alcott is truly a good writer, however this book is NOTHING compared to the greatness of Little Women. Not only that, but John Brooke died, and I'm really not ok with that.

A charming sequel to Little Women! I wasn't sold at first, mainly because it felt a little different from Little Women and I also missed those characters. Once I got to know the characters in this though (especially all the young boys!), I really enjoyed it. I listened to it, which I felt was perfect; I loved having any their adventures and lessons learned playing in the background. There were so many characters to root for, but Dan was my favorite and I loved his character development. I would definitely recommend this.

Little Women is one of my favorite books of all time, and when I came across this sequel at the library, I was thrilled—I had no idea that Alcott wrote any companion novels to Little Women. (And I was even happier that it was pretty much all about my favorite March sister, Jo!) Well, I took it home and read it and it was amazing.
I think I liked it for many of the same reasons I liked Little Women:

--The characters are human, and they have strong suits and weak suits, triumphs and failures, virtues and shortcomings

--The plot is pretty much a series of little escapades and incidents, with a few things tying it all together

--And the 'family' dynamic of the big bunch of characters is really fun to read about. Most of them aren't related to each other, since the setting is a big school for young boys run by Jo March, but they love each other all the same and act like brothers.

Now I have to read Jo's Boys, the third book in the series! Yay!
