Good bit: I love the apocalypse (I adore all ends-of-the-world-as-we know-it). I like the idea of the silo (silae?).
Bad bit: Am not fond of the characters, nor the drive to the silo. It was a bit of a let-down (but I suppose they took time to construct … perhaps another origin is possible).

This prequel was just not good. I feel like rather than enriching the world of the narrative, it made it seem so much less likely. Should have been classified not as Silo #2, but as 0.5 or 1.5. Then I wouldn’t have read it and I’d be happier. 
1.5 stars, just for Solo’s origin story, still not good, but at least somewhat interesting.

After watching the first season of Silo on Apple TV I soon realized this was first a book series and I loved the show so much I just had to know what was going to happen next and could not wait for season 2. I’m really glad I read this, it was such a good read, tensions were high and I read through all 3 books in a matter of days.
