None of the other books really had the same magic the first book had.
Overall I liked the series though. Bit of a rushed end imo

You know there were a few things left hanging but all in all, I thought this as a good ending to the trilogy.

When i first saw the cover of this book i wanted to read it. Unfortunately i have this strange thing with series and reading them in order. So i held out and ordered the first two and read them first. With as much as i wanted to read this one i still put it off for weeks.
My anticipation was definately worth it though. As with the first book, the more i read the more i wanted to read. The more engrossed i became in the lives of my characters. The more i wanted to kill others. This book is very complex and very action packed. It will keep you on the edge of your seat at every twist and turn. You won't want to put it down.
I didn't want to part with this book while i was reading it, and at times not only did i laugh, but i almost cried as well. The emotion that's packed into the pages of this book as well as the description is overwhelming.

I very much enjoyed this series, the pacing was fairly steady, the history fascinating and the characters quite interesting. The old characters blend well with the new and form a wonderful web or how everyone is related of knows each other is fairly easy to follow (which is quite hard to come by)
I am glad the end of the book tied everything together, but some things seemed a little 'too convient' or just got glossed over. All in all though, enjoyed the book, loved the series, defiantly one I could read again.

2024 reread: I just love this book more with each revisit. I could hang with the Bishop deClermonts for hours more.
