I read the first book in this trilogy a year or two ago, so it took me a few minutes to reacquaint myself with the characters and the little town they are from. Once I got back into this world, it was just like the book I remembered. I loved this family and the people who surround them. Though it's a faith-based book, Lewis doesn't overdo it with the preaching to her audience. She lets her characters' voices speak for themselves. This book leaves you on a little cliffhanger, so starting the third book immediately was necessary.

This book just like all the rest in the series is very well written. I love how at the end she ties up all the loose ends, everyone gets to have their happily ever after. Hen learns to live in the world with an Amish heart, Nick redeems himself and faces the demons of doubt and loss that we all have to face. There is even a hint of a full on miracle that poor Emma more then deserves. Like all good series you hate to see it end because you are wrapped in the lives, love, and loss of those characters.

Oh man,
Beverly was really throwing these characters through the ringer. I think that this focus was on forgiveness, I really wanted Brandon to just die but humbling him I suppose was the next best thing.

The one thing irking me is Rose accepting fault for Silas basically having the wandering eye.
This had me on my toes and i truly couldn't put it down .

This was such a great sequel! Brandon and Hen’s relationship is on the outs, and Rose has found herself the object of affection of her own paramour.

I practically inhaled this book to get to the third and final book to see how everything wraps.

This book is the sequel to The Thorn and was about Rose struggling with her feelings for Silas and Nick and Hen dealing with her husband wanting a divorce and custody of Mattie Sue.

If it was more about Rose like the first one, I would have LOVED it. But most of the book was about Hen and Brandon. They're incredibly boring.

This one was better than the first one, I am ready to see what happens in the final book to this trilogy.
