This was a fun read. It's maybe less cozy than you would expect from the cover, but it was a super quick read for me. I thought it was funny, and dealt with some of the more serious aspects of the characters lives respectfully.  There were some moments I rolled my eyes at, but it's a romcom, and sometimes that just comes with the territory.  I liked the side characters, a lot. I think they really added to the story.

I went into this book with high expectations, essentially believing this would be an amazing book and I'd love it, but sadly that was not the case.

The part of the book description that interested me the most was the part about the break in and Fox not being able to protect Cady and I was disappointed by the break in. It wasn't as dramatic as I'd hoped and I feel like there being more drama to it would have made the book better.

I liked Cady's character and I enjoyed her quirkiness. Fox's characters was okay but not great.
Some of the things he did while "protecting" Cady were a bit odd to me and maybe even a bit creepy.

I only gave this 2 stars because I kind of enjoyed some of the drama that happened at the end and the steamy scenes were well written.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I feel bad saying I read this book because I could not get through it. I was halfway through the book, and I still felt like the story was being set up. In addition to that, I didn't feel that FMC was relatable, and I felt the storytelling was extremely clumsy. Granted, I read this after reading ACOTAR, so maybe I'm biased. I would love to read something else by this author, but I felt this book was not a good introduction.
