Was your favorite movie growing up "You've Got Mail" or any of the prior iterations? Then this book is for YOU!
TW: Stalking
I was hesitant after I saw that stalking was a trigger warning. I had to DNF one book because it was too much and too creepy. However, this book does this in a way that it's more palatable.
This author is quickly becoming my favorite. I am devouring all of her books right now. She writes how my brain functions and I feel like I could be one of the characters. Perhaps it is because the author is also neurodivergent so I'm vibing with her vibes. I mean, Star Wars references AND a Mrs. Doubtfire reference!? Girl, you get me!
Our FMC has a chronic illness (love that representation), but she is capable and confident and also able to ask for help when she needs it. I love when this is the characterization, versus her having a chronic illness and being superwoman somehow. It makes it more relatable and more realistic.
The MMC has PTSD and TRAUMA that need to be worked through severely. He's well-read and educated and has "a particular set of skills" when necessary.
The side characters are all humorous and loveable. The town as a whole is an interesting group of people with their own petty politics and small-town drama.
The twist at the end was shocking and I gasped along with everyone else.
A 10/10 read!

i was really not sold on this book for the first half, i didn’t love how fox portrayed his interest in Cady and it sketched me out, but the ending and the way everything got explained and came together made me like the book a lot more and explains a lot of the oddities of their relationship in the first half. overall pretty good & i liked the location/general vibe/funky found family style friend group that Cady has. it wrapped up really well & ended up being pretty heartwarming. although sometimes the language of Cady was a little cringey (some of it just gave off typical quirky female character & seemed teenager-y instead of something a 28 year old would say) as well as the sex descriptions….personal opinion
the author did describe chronic illness and mental illness (specifically the PTSD Fox suffers from) really well! but I can’t get over how creeped out I was that he watched her for so long & how little she cared about it. it gave early Twilight in a way

This was so stinking cute!! I laughed out loud and cackled at least 5 times listening to this. The narration was great but the dialogue was hilarious. I would have been best friends with Cady. I can see how this wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but I really appreciated the made up words, quick wit, representation for plus size love, disabilities, and PTSD.

Felt a little too much like he was a legit stalker, and not just dark and sexy
