If Kendrick’s goal in writing this book was to convince us that she’s just a regular person like we are (flawed with some interesting stories, but ultimately kind of boring), she succeeded spectacularly.  That’s not to say this is a bad book, but it’s the kind of book that makes you think at around the halfway point that “oh yeah, most people have pretty straightforward lives and actors are just normal people.”  She’s got some stories worth telling, but a lot of her life is… about as exciting as mine is.  It sounds like she’s happy with that, and I’m happy for her.  As other reviews have said, she’s very frank about sex and despite her frequent on-screen vibe, she isn’t averse to swearing.  Those things both detracted from my enjoyment id the book, but they also made me feel like I know the unvarnished truth about who Anna Kendrick really is.

I purchased the audiobook first and to hear Anna tell her stories made this book that much funnier and had me laughing out loud in the line to get coffee, at work, and during my walks the in evening. Sure I had people staring at me like I was crazy but the look were worth it ! If you love her tweets and sense of humor you will fall in love with this book! Going to purchase the hardcover copy today because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love Anna Kendrick. I know that is so cliche to say, but there is just something about her. She reminds me of my sister or my best friend. I know, I know that is her job, but still...I love her. Anyway, reading Scrappy Little Nobody was just like watching one of her movies. You feel like she's your best friend, only cooler. I even bought the audio book and the print book so I can have both the pictures and her reading. If you love Anna Kendrick, too, then you should read this memoir.

I really like #annakendrick as an actor, but this book wasn’t what I was expecting. I appreciated how real she was with her journey to Hollywood, but I was hoping more for a stand up style (a la Bossypants) more than memoir.

As usual, read by the author always bumps up the rating for me.

Was not expecting to like this because I'm not a huge fan of biography books, but this was both entertaining and informative. Loved it!
