Whilst I love Marian Keyes work usually, I really wasn’t a huge fan of Grown Ups. Once I got to about fifty percent of the way through this book, I actually wanted to read it, however it should not take me half a book to become interested.
The main issues for me were that there were just far too many characters to keep track off, as well as it just being far to long winded. Given the amount of characters involved, I really felt there wasn’t much building of their characteristics until it was too late. If the story’d had fewer characters to follow then I feel like their development, and my investment in their issues would have been much more.
Over all, it was just okay.

Not a literary masterpiece, but I could not bring myself to put the book down and read all of it within a week. Full of interesting characters, all of the different with different relationships with one another. Maybe I would have liked more consequences for some of the characters actions, take for example Liam being a massive creep, if he were to be cut off from the family, or if Jessie had had more financial issues after the weird way of running her business combined with her expensive lifestyle. I really did root for Ed and Cara though and cried through the last pages.

Messy and complicated and wonderfully fun to read! This book was such a different road than I expected to go on while reading. It was so intriguing and I recommend this to all. This was such a perfect light hearted read after reading horror so much lately. Who can't relate to a such a dysfunctional family?
