Very deep reading. Also very technological. I love reading deeper books but this summer wasn't the best time. If I read it again with more time I think I would've enjoyed it more. Excellent writing style and jumps back and forth between inner plot-lines just enough to stay interested. The reason I am giving this only 3 stars is because there was an exceptional amount of swearing and sex. If that sort of thing offends you, I would not read this. It was light enough I felt I could skip over it easily enough, but not everyone might feel that way. The other reason for the 3 star review is because I didn't feel that it was a compelling enough story to get me to re-read the book. Overall, a good read and I'm glad I spent the time to finish the story.

Overly verbose technical jargon and every character acting as a mouthpiece for his political views make this book a slog at times. The ending is incredibly rushed and unsatisfying after spending so much time dawdling through all the different timelines. This feels like a book of the late 90s/early 2000s that probably should be left there.

Didn't catch me after reading over 100 pages. Sometimes the switch bewteen the people confused me and overall I don't enjoy war settings.

Trash. written by a nerdy man for other nerdy men. Extremely misogynistic and racist. Takes place in two timelines: one during WW2 and the other in the 90’s. The only Black characters are nameless and described as n***os (this is apparently ok since it happens in the WW2 timeline…. but apparently there are no Black people in the 90’s). The women in the novel are all sexual interests of a main character (who are all men) and either virgins or they sleep around/are unfaithful. They almost exclusively serve the purpose of breeding and exist for no other reason. The three most significant women have something horrible happen to them.

The narration also sucked, non-english names and words were often mispronounced and any character with a southern accent sounded like an unintelligent caricature.

1 star for the interesting delves into technology.
