Such a fan of Mary Higgins Clark. I love the way she drops little hints and intesifies the suspense with each chapter.

A great read and such a creative idea. Imagine if there was a letter that Christ wrote. That would be a sight to see!

For a book written by the "Queen of Suspense", it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The story about the letter was interesting but it felt like it took forever just for one thing to happen. It was an easy read at the beginning but then she just drawn everything out way to much at the end.

I'll preface this by saying that I used to read modern day murder mysteries and thrillers a lot and I loved them; the last 4-5 years I haven't read any. So, I don't know if I would have liked any book in the genre or if this was good book. I may be bias.

While I thought that the villain probably did it, I never had a point in the book before I was supposed to where I thought, "yep, definitely him." I found some of the conversations to be corny but not enough to stop reading.

Over all I liked the book. My favorite characters were by far Alvirah and Willie; they seemed like they should have their own series.

I LOVE MHC, so I know I will enjoy any book she writes. Is it the greatest literature of all time? NO. Is it nice light family fun, and a pleasure to read? Yes.

Not awful, but nearly.

This seems to have been an attempt to glom onto the DaVinci Code mania of a number of years ago. Really, it could have been about anything, because past & present don't intertwine, and there are no 'clues' from the past leading the present plot forward. If you did a Search & Replace on "letter from Christ to Joseph of Arimathea" with "Magna Carta" or "chest of Spanish doubloons", you'd have a whole new book ready to go.

The writing is simplistic and repetitive. I guess this is great for a book you stuff in your purse for when you're waiting in lines, and read 10 minutes at a time, but not for much else.

The mystery was spoiled because the creepiest character turned out to be the bad guy, despite the attempted shell game of pointing clues to 2 or 3 characters in order to add suspense. I mean, you just knew that Greg wasn't playing with a full deck from the point where he hits on Mariah a day after her father's funeral and when her mother is arrested for the murder.

If you take out the obvious give-away of Greg, the mystery isn't too bad, although I wanted to punch the busybody Alvirah who attempted to play sleuth. In real life, she should have been arrested, and left the perfectly capable police to their job.

If I could give a book zero stars, it would be this one.
I couldn’t finish it.
It was absolutely boring.
The writing was lazy.
