I found myself with a much greater sense of appreciation for Brothers in Arms the second time around, although knowing Mark and his role in the universe to come I was unbelievably shocked at where Mark began. Over the years his character had become taller, larger than life, bigger than Miles himself, so to see him where it all began was a shock to the system.

Miles Vorkosigan aka Admiral Naismith of the Dendarii Free Mercenary Fleet finds himself stuck on Earth after a devastating campaign. Left chasing funds to pay off his Fleet debts, Miles finds himself stuck as escort to London socialites and struggling with the shift between his Vorkosigan and Naismith personalities.

Amongst all this, lurking in the background is our introduction to Mark, a truly bizarre twist in the storyline that is Miles.

Väga hea. Mulle meeldib, kuidas poole pealt ilmunud ja esialgu väljanaermist väärt yllatusest on raamatu lõpuks saanud sarjale igati aktsepteeritav ja huvipakkuv lisandus.

Another excellent installment in the Vorkosigan Saga. LMB continues to build on the depth of her characters from Miles to Ivan. I love how every book also reveals more about Barrayar culture and how the rest of the universe perceives them.

It's been a while since I've read a Vorkosigan novel, but I got right back into the suspense and the convoluted plots Miles spins. Mark is going to be an interesting spanner in the works in future, I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. Also, I like seeing Miles becoming more confident in himself. And Ivan was a pleasure, as always.

I'm sure I would be better off reading the series in order but after reading the first couple of the series I know enough about the characters to wing it with this one.
I really like this series, so far all the books are full of non-stop action and great characters and this one is no exception. I love the mercenary fleet and who would have thought about all the problems involved with running one!! Can't wait until I get another book in the series.
