I really enjoyed this book and will definitely have to read it again. It has made me want to go out to a cabin in the woods and just be their with my thoughts not to prove me wrong that their can only be men of the mountains, but like Erin said that she realised that reason isn’t a gd one and in the end it really showed her what she was like and helped her see the work differently and separate herself from her mum and anyone else and she became her own person and only realised this sooner and it sounds like an amazing journey and one id love to go one myself
one day .

I almost never buy hard copies of books, but I’m so glad I bought this one. I have a feeling I’m going to have to reread it a few more times to digest everything in it.

i liked the premise very much

I think this book was trying to be and do too many things. I really enjoyed some parts and there were some great ideas and writing but on the whole I didn’t really like the flitting around between philosophical, scientific, historical, feminist and travel/nature fiction.

I found some sections a struggle to get through and there were parts that dove way too heavily into a specific area and then changed to something else in the next chapter.

I thought this book would be more about the travelling and nature side of the journey but it was much more philosophical and historical than anticipated. I also struggled with some of the very ‘white feminist’ elements although these started to be addressed further into the book.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I love some of the ideas and exploration of the themes around being female and the human relationship with nature. They’ve really stuck with me and they feel important to think about. I think I just struggled with the way this book moved between its various elements.

I did not like the writing style and found it hard to get into the story.

Give this book to that man in your life who won't shut up about Into The Wild.

I’m not really sure where to start with how much I loved this book, it drew me in from the first page and I was completely wrapped up in Erin’s journey. The formatting of this book was fantastic, the journal style, with photos and bits of conversations throughout the “entries” not only made this fiction book feel like non-fiction but also allowed me to be completely invested in Erin and what she was doing. I worried (and frustrated) about her as she hitched hiked across Canada, I cheered when she accomplished something novel on her own, and I felt her desire to prove that women are just as capable as men as it was my own journey (which let’s be honest is actually true). I have never read something quite like this before and I know this book will stay with me for a long time.

Ja, vad ska jag säga? Språkligt, filosofiskt och feministiskt en bok som landade precis där den skulle. Om det här är en indikation på resten av mitt läs-år så bådar det mycket gott!
