Ally Forman likes playing with her barbies, even Headless, Naked, Jobless Barbie.

Ally Forman loves Twilight. (I forgive her it-she's awesome)

Ally Forman LOVES wrestling:

Ally Forman just won the lottery for over 3 hundred million dollars:

Ally Forman has Down's syndrome.

I love her.

This story is told from an angels point of view. When I first started reading it I thought it would completely go cheesey on me. This isn't your everyday angel though. He cusses, and rants and isn't really able to "fix" things he sees. He is just there to lend support.
Ally's favorite wrestler Stryker Nash has been fired from wrestling. She is seriously depressed over it. Then when that winning lottery ticket becomes hers the only thing she wants to do is give him the money so that he can keep wrestling.

What makes a book a five star from me? This book makes you smile, cheer and yes, it makes you cry. Go. Read. It.

There's a famous painting dating back to something like the 16th century, a Flemish nativity scene. It shows an angel with facial features typical of a human with Down syndrome.
Yes, way.
Legend has it that the Spirit World was trying to send a message to humanity through the painter.

Really heartwarming novel. Gave it a 3/5 because it's not something I would read again, personally, as the plot didn't quite appeal to me. I felt it was a bit slow and confusing at first, but definitely picked up the pace later on.

Ally Forman is a 23 year old woman with Down syndrome. She and her friends--dubbed "the Cool People"--have an obsession with wrestling. Ally, in particular, is a devoted fan of wrestler Stryker Nash, who has been pushed out of the arena after his group was bought by a larger promotion. After winning a $300+ million lottery, Ally declares that she wants to use the money to help her idol return to the ring. Meanwhile, Ally's mother wants to use the money to set up a group home for Ally and the Cool People.

I liked the premise of the story. In particular, I thought the choice of narrator was particularly inventive. However, I felt like there were too many side stories running through the main plot--many of which were not fully explored. If the author had focused on Ally, with maybe one or two characters, there would have been a better flow to the story and a more satisfying conclusion.
