Something Like Lust is the second book in the Chicago Grizzlies series by Piper Rayne, featuring a one-night stand, accidental pregnancy romance for Damon and Adeline sure to make you swoon! Adeline never dreamed that stepping out of her comfort zone to hook up with the playboy wide receiver would prove to be a life-altering decision. Two pink lines on a stick a few weeks later tilted her world on its axis. How would she tell Damon Sitka, and how would he react?
Boy, am I loving this series! At first you think it will just be a Bad Boy/Good Girl vibe, but you quickly realize that there’s more to Damon Sitka than meets the eye. His behavior was masking real emotional pain, and Adeline is the perfect person for him, he just happens to be the last person on planet Earth to see it!

This was an okay book. I struggled falling in love with Adeline and Damon for some reason. A big part of me didn’t feel as if their relationship was true or sincere. Or it may be that I’m just not into this trope. I found myself wanting more out of this story, more emotions and more moments from Damon and Adeline as first time parents. At times, it felt as if it was too convenient — they made the experience (including their co-parenting situation) like a walk in the park, when realistically it’s anything but.
I’m most excited about Elle and Cooper! I love a best friends to lovers story above anything else. I’ll probably have to go back to the first book since I haven’t read it, I just haven’t decided whether to do that while waiting for the third book or do it after.

Adeline is a school teacher with a big heart. Damon is a playboy, NFL star who she has a one night stand with in a moment of weakness.
And then… those two pink lines show up and turn their single lives upside down.
I really liked how this picked up at approximately 6 months along. I love that he’s not being a jerk, doubting or trying to get out of responsibilities.
What ends up happening is butterfly inducing interactions that are “for the baby”.
Yeah, the way they get along and get to know each other is so freaking adorable and swoony.
Damon shows his softness without meaning to or much regret. I freaking adore him!
Adeline has fears and is being cautious for good reasons. I think the story was pretty realistic as far as we can imagine this scenario.
What ends up becoming of the pair is so beautiful, cute and entertaining!
I love the characters, their situation isn’t crazy and I adore the way Damon shows his sweet side with Adeline and for the baby!
There are so many adorable and swoony moments. It’s just set up to make a woman swoon!

3.8⭐️ cute! Am I into the pregnancy trope? No. But I liked this book. It’s short, sweet, and I love this group of friends!
I didn’t write a review for the first book in this series, but I know I liked it enough to immediately put a hold on the next two books.
Ok the thing I hated about this book, public declarations of love

no chemistry, no romance, literally just lust and even that! was weak as heeeell

Really fun, fast read. One of the better books I’ve read with this trope
4.5⭐️
This might be my favourite accidental pregnancy romance? I usually don’t love that trope, but I’ve read all Piper Rayne’s books with characters linked to this one so I had to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did!
Something Like Lust was actually heartwarming, and realistic to read from a mother’s perspective. So many of these books focus mostly on the negatives of new parenthood, and it didn’t feel that way here. I loved Daddy Damon and how he had no hesitation in altering his life for Clover, and was always SO supportive to Adeline. It was nice to discover back story for his commitment issues. I appreciated that there was no real other woman/other man drama. It felt very mature. I enjoyed it a lot! Aiden Snow and Stella Hunter’s narration was perfect for these characters!
I highly suggest reading (or listening to) On The Defense, the prequel novella to this series, where we first meet all the characters. It had me hooked right away! The night Damon and Adeline meet is part of the novella, and it set this one up really nicely!
