I really loved this story. Adeline and Damon have had a one night stand that has resulted with her being pregnant. I loved how Damon was so willing to step up even if he wasn’t sure about how to always go about this. I loved how everything built up slowly and enjoyed the parental interactions. I well written sports romance and my favourite in the series

Damon was flying high. He won the Superbowl and everything was great. Until he got a text from a former one-night stand that she was six months pregnant and the baby was his. Adeline was hesitant to tell Damon she was pregnant because he was the definition of a playboy. Now that he knows, they have to figure out how they are going to co-parent. The only thing is, Adeline starts to see that Damon has a lot of great qualities that make him a great parent, and maybe even a partner.

I loved these two. It was fun to read from their perspectives and see them get to know each other. I thought their connection was great and appreciated how respectful both were of the situation and sharing parenting. I loved how Adeline wouldn't back down in what she wanted and needed, but also had an understanding of Damon's career and desire to parent. I thought Damon added a lot of comedic relief to the book, especially how protective he was of his child. He was an amazing father and tried so hard to do the best he could for Adeline and their child.

This was a slow burn, as they took a lot of time getting to know each other and learning to co-parent together. The slow burn led to some serious angst between the couple. I loved watching their relationship develop and flourish, while they figured out how being co-parents and a couple could work.

If you want a good football romance, check this one out! It is a good, fun read. Thank you to Valentine PR for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

I really enjoyed Damon and Adeline's story!

When Adeline discovers she's pregnant after a one-night stand with Damon, she is unsure what to do. She wants to tell him, but Damon is in the middle of his football season and Adeline doesn't want to get in the middle of that. When the season ends, Damon gets a text from Adeline about the news then she ghosts him. Left with no choice, Damon gets in his car and drives to the middle school where Adeline works and refuses to leave until he sees and talks to her. After confirming that the baby is Damon's, he knows that he wants to be involved instead of just sending Adeline a check every month.

Watching Adeline and Damon get to know each other was so sweet! Damon was such a nice surprise. Having a playboy reputation, you don't know what to expect of him as a father, but he took his role very seriously and made sure Adeline was taken care of from the moment he found out about the pregnancy until the birth. After the birth, Damon falls immediately in love with their child.

Adeline and Damon were such a good match! Their romance flowed so nicely and had me rooting for them the entire time. This book had me laughing and swooning page after page! Both these characters had a history to deal with, but I do wish we got to know Damon and his scars a little more. He had experienced something hard at a young age, and I wish we got to see him talk about it more with Adeline so that she could understand him more. I loved the maturity of our characters given their situation.

I never know what to expect with surprise pregnancy books, but this one was so well done and easy to read that I binged it in a day! Seeing characters from the first book in the series was also so much fun. I love character cameos! Overall, really enjoyed it and can't wait for Cooper's book next!

“But only Damon is the one who causes my heart to beat uncontrollably every time I see him.”

If you’re looking for a sports romance with a one night stand gone wrong, you should check out Something Like Lust by Piper Rayne. I’ve never finished a book so fast in my life. From the moment I read the first sentence, I was transfixed by the story, eager to read more. “One more chapter”turned into finishing the whole book, tissues in hand.

I have been waiting for Damon and Adeline’s story since reading the hints about them in the first book and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. Adeline is so sweet and does everything to protect her baby. Everything she decides to do is in the best interest of her little one. She never asks anything of anyone else, not wanting to disrupt their lives. Damon is absolutely incredible. The growth from the first book to this book is extraordinary. He immediately steps up to the plate, taking on the responsibility of raising a child with Adeline, making sure that she and the baby are safe.

Their romance is definitely a slow-burn, which I am absolutely obsessed with. There are so many sweet moments, not only between Adeline and Damon, but between them and their child. They’re both such mature characters, who attempt co-parenting in the best way possible and just happen to fall in love in the process.

This book definitely has my heart! It’s my favorite of the Chicago Grizzlies series so far! I highly recommend reading it.

As a lifelong romance reader, I have long thought that the accidental pregnancy trope was one the hardest to do well, but Piper Rayne absolutely knocked it out of the part in Something Like Lust. Damon and Adeline had a one night stand and she ended up pregnant accidentally. After he finds out, they have to figure out together how to navigate this life change, and what, exactly, to do with each other while they do. Watching them working it all out was such a delight, and how they kept showing up for themselves and each other while they did was so amazing. Their love was hard-earned, which made it feel all the more special, and I read this book just grinning. I loved this book, and I can't wait to see what comes next in the series.

Great story

I’ve read a lot of surprise pregnancy books but this one is high up on the list. The characters work through their hang-ups and get their HEA.

What to Expect:
✨Football Romance
✨Accidental Pregnancy
✨One Night Stand
✨Reformed Playboy
✨Forced Proximity

Damon finds out that he is going to be a father from a girl he had a one night stand with. When he approaches her, he finds out she is further along than he thought. The second he finds out the baby is his, he takes every chance to be close to Adeline and the baby. He steps up and even has them move in with him when the season starts up again. But, Damon has always been a playboy, so will he change his ways for Adeline now that she had his baby?

I loved Damon so much. The way he stepped up as soon as he found out that baby was his, was just so amazing to see.

I LOVED this book. I am not a huge accidental pregnancy fan but this was very well done. I loved Damon and Adeline. Damon struggled HARD and I loved that Adeline just did her own thing. This was pretty low angst which I personally loved - I don't want a TON of conflict when there is a child involved. The audio was amazing so if that's your thing, I definitely recommend it!
