This book had me rolling, laughing from the very beginning! To me, there’s nothing better than starting a book with a little bit of humor to get the ball rolling. From the beginning, I was in love with Damon and Adeline was so relatable.

I don’t know that I understood what I I was going into when I started this book because there is a lot of focus on pregnancy and family. There was a little bit of spice sprinkled in, that being said, this was a more relatable book for me because I am a mother as well, but it isn’t like your typical spicy romance but more of a Hallmark romance.

I’m honestly convinced though that Piper Rayne can’t write a bad book! It always amazes me that somehow they are co-authors, and they can somehow peace together the story so well.

I received an advance review copy but this review is my own honest opinions.

It's Damon Siska's time to get his HEA !

The infamous playboy has had his fair share of one-night stands and one of them resulted in a pregnancy. Adeline is surprised to see him reappear in his life and both of them decide to give a shot to co-parenting. But will Damon change his habits once his kid is here ?

----------

Should I repeat again that Piper Rayne's stories are addicting from start to finish ? I will!

I love meddling friends and families and when they help get our main characters their HEA. Damon is all in from the start, for his baby, and I loved how Adeline and him worked for their kid first, to make things work, before getting involved again with one another.

The slow burn is so real !

We get times from the pregnancy but also after the baby is born and it really makes great family moments. Damon with a kid ? More, please!

----------

Now it's time for Cooper... This might be the story I'm the most excited about, especially considering how the epiloge in Something Like Lust ended!!

I had a feeling Damon would make us melt as a Daddy and after finishing this book I was not wrong!

I loved how we truly got their relationship from one night stand to awkward conversations about how to navigate everything to seeing it blossom into something more. Damon will make you swoon with the way he dives all in with being a Dad and Adeline is amazing at dealing with all the things that surround him. Absolutely loved these two together!

Piper Rayne's sports romances have all been pretty great, but I think this one is my new favorite of theirs. The authors did a fantastic job of redeeming bad boy football star Damon Siska. Learning that he was about to become a father brought out a completely different side of Damon's personality, and I loved the way he stepped up and became a true partner to middle school teacher Adeline Morgan. Their banter and chemistry was phenomenal, but what I most appreciated was their awareness of the challenges they faced and efforts to talk through how to handle them. The one topic that seemed to be off limits was Damon's fear of relationships, but when I learned the reason behind it, my heart broke for him. Adeline and the baby were exactly what Damon needed to move on from his past into a brighter future.

I highly recommend "Something Like Lust" for all contemporary/sports romance and romantic comedy fans and look forward to the next book in the series.

Damon is such a playboy. Well, all that changes in this book! His character kind of shocked me and I really ended up liking him. Adeline is a small town teacher who has a one night stand with Damon. I loved her character. She is a sweet spirit. She finds herself with a baby on the way. When Damon finds out he does the honorable thing. The thing is, through all of this, he is so good to her. Adeline is the one who struggles. These two go from tentative friends to much more. Piper Rayne brings so much more than a sports romance with this story. I love surprise baby books and this one was quite the treat! 4 stars and 3 spice emojis!

General Thoughts: I love the writing duo of Piper Rayne. I have read a ton of their books and I've enjoyed every one. I also liked the first in this series. That's why I wanted to read this arc even though I knew going in that accidental pregnancy is rarely a favorite trope of mine. I find it difficult to be done in a way that I like. So that made this book harder for me. I also don't love when books jump around in the timeline a lot and this one had several spots that jumped forward. So those were some major obstacles for this book to overcome.

I really enjoyed Piper Rayne's writing style in this one as I knew I would, and I also liked the characters. But I had a harder time connecting to their romance and liking them together. Basically this book was great and lived up to the typical Piper Rayne magic I think, but because of my own difficulties with the trope, I had a hard time getting into it. I think they worked hard to overcome a lot of the things I don't like about accidental pregnancy, but just not enough for me to like the book.

I can't wait to see what they write next though as I love this author duo and this series. If you like accidental pregnancy or don't mind it, I think you will really enjoy this one.

Steam Meter: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Steamy but not overly steamy.

Romantic Tropes
-accidental pregnancy
-one night stand to more
-reform the player
-sports romance
-football romance
