Something Like Lust

3.95 AVERAGE

What happens when a school teacher acts out of character and has a one night stand with a player both on and off the field? They're both in for the surprise of their life!

We met Damon and Adeline in the prequel novella, On the Defense, when they had their night together. They had great chemistry but then she went on her way and that seemed to be the end of it. But this book picks up after she finds out she's pregnant from their night together.

I loved Damon and Adeline together. Their banter was sweet and funny. Damon's character growth was really well done. He uses his athletic dedication and determination to do well in all aspects of his life and he definitely showed that in how he reacted to the news. It was so fun reading how they handled her pregnancy and they did it with grace and a good amount of teamwork. And though their families were a little much in the beginning, you could tell it came from a place of love. Even his friends were there and supportive. Overall, a great group of people surrounding our FMC and MMC to give them any help they needed.

This book had me laughing at some points and swooning at others. I couldn't put it down! I enjoyed my time in their world and can't wait for the next book!

A nice quick read that went the way you expected it to, but that didn't make it any less enjoyable. It made me laugh a few times and I enjoyed the characters.

I liked the reformed playboy but did not like that Damon almost threw it all away with his story from high school since we never heard about it. It just seemed written in to try and make up for his behavior

They were really good coparents though

I adore the Chicago Grizzlies team from Piper Rayne! This new oddball group of pro football players has captured my heart and had me rolling with laughter! Something Like Lust is a fab surprise pregnancy, fling-to-lovers, sports romance. Damon Siska is the team playboy and consummate bachelor. Damon and Adeline met in Something Like Hate and had instant chemistry. I enjoyed Piper Rayne’s spin on the surprise pregnancy trope. Their well-rounded, dynamic characters’ mature, communicative handling of their life-changing event was refreshingly real. The way the shameless flirt flipped the dad switch to take care of Adeline and their peanut was enough to melt even the surprise pregnancy haters’ hearts. I even grew to like Damon’s overbearing, meddling parents. Naturally, it wouldn’t be a love story without a hiccup or two, but Damon and Adeline were meant for one another. Damon has always been perceived as the dumb playboy jock, but his compassion, protectiveness, and romantic nature outshine his hot football player persona. Damon and Adeline are two bighearted sweethearts who balance each other perfectly. I enjoyed the balance of angst (from past traumas), romance, spice, and relatable new-parent mishaps. This new series by Piper Rayne is fun, flirty, and full of heart. I can’t wait for more!
