This is one of the best books I have had the great pleasure to read. The prose is like music and the story is gripping. And the combination of 3rd person and 1st person storytelling only serves to invest us further in the story of Kvothe.

This book makes my top 10 list. The writing is amazing!! The magic system is incredible, the word building is top-notch, and the hero's journey is included in a way that feels thoughtful rather than trite.

I don’t really leave reviews ever, who am I to judge a book, that being said, I did enjoy this book, I loved the beginning got kind of board in the middle and enjoyed the end. Its all preference not every book is for everyone.

Did Kvothe drive me crazy with some of his decisions? Absolutely, is he 15/16 years old yes and you can tell. He is young when all this is happening. Do I low key hate Denna yes. But I am not a 15 year old boy. People complain about him being the supposed most interesting man in the world and honestly that’s what the book is about lol. He is different then everyone, beyond exceptional at most things. He is the main character in a fantasy novel after all. Like I said, the middle bored me a bit, not high stakes enough for my liking but I’m interested enough to try book two.

Well written, and incredible story building and telling. I’m excited to read the next one in the series.

I believe my favourite fantasy book of all times. Love the characteristic stubbornness of the main character, and the fantasy world beautifully portrayed by Rothfuss. Can't wait to read the last book of this trilogy

Loved the Dune reference. Felt like a few things could have been cut out, such as the importance of the Dewey Decimal System.
