This book was exciting and really pulls you in. With Alex and River from two completely different worlds to becoming parents together, this book consisted of plot twists I couldn't have predicted. I also enjoyed the changes of scenery, since we see River living in a city, Alex working at his family-owned texas ranch and the two of them meeting on beach-filled Key West on holiday. I would totally recommend this book!
medium-paced
This book was so good! I enjoyed it quite a bit. I ended up getting busy in the middle of it and took a break, but when I was reading it, I flew through it.
Alex & River were both such good characters and made such a good couple. The tension and banter were on point! I thoroughly enjoyed that Alex was a cowboy/rancher and River was PICU nurse. It was great to get their "back stories" and more details on each of their jobs. That may have been one of my favorite parts of the book.
The plot of this book was right up my alley. Meeting on Spring Break at the beach was such a good meet-cute. Not the same plot lines you read over and over again, which I so appreciated. Alex & River have 2 weeks in paradise, but the events of these 2 weeks will forever change their lives. The beginning of this book is their meet-cute/time in paradise. Alex can't seem to get River off his mind and ends up falling so hard for her. *Swoon* The second half of the book, we see River & Alex trying to continue their relationship in the real world. During this half, we also meet the rest of the Bishop family. One of my absolute favorite things in a good book is a good family! I am such a sucker for a good family, especially when we are going to get more books in the series with these family members!
This book is definitely worth a read and I can NOT wait to continue this series! I highly recommend you pick this up today!

I really enjoyed the chemistry between River and Alex starting out in Key West. It was electric and read very well but the culmination and the missed time that followed fell short for me. It kind of fell apart in a cookie cutter way. The intimate moments were a little to wrote for me. Just could have used better story development.
Charming cowboy and down-on-her-luck but strong woman? Great story with lots of fun and thoughtfulness!
This is the first book I have read, actually, listened to by Kennedy Fox. The first book in the Bishop Brothers series.
This was more of a saga, and an interesting one at that. In this book, you get to meet all of the Bishop Brothers, the parents, and a cousin of two. It gives you a good foundation of the brothers personalities.
I really didn't expect for this book to give me so much. We start with teenaged River, on to adult River, then playboy Alex. I liked that there was some push and pull when Alex and River finally crossed paths. She wasn't going to fall at his feet in lust, and he was surprised she didn't fall at his feet in lust.
River and Alex had great chemistry and seemed to really enjoy each other. There was a bit of tension and angst as the book moved into the next phase.
We watch Alex and River's relationship grow and develop under some mildly daunting circumstances. In the backdrop is the love and support of the Bishop family and the townspeople.
It is not all smooth sailing as the book moved to the next phase of Alex and River's relationship, speeding toward their HEA. After all of that, we are given a glimpse into what I think may be the next book about the oldest Bishop brother, Evan.
The descriptions of the area, ranch, and ranch life were engaging. The narration was great, many times with emotion pulling at the heartstrings. This is a 4.5 stars listen. Can't wait for Book 2.

I loved everything about River and Alex in this book! They were such a cute couple with basically no drama. Okay, there was a tiny bit.. but seriously.. they were adorable people.
Taming Him was a pretty addictive book. I obviously wanted River to have a happy ending.. especially after that dramatic punch to the guy Kennedy called a prologue. Hot damn. Hitting me with a death so early on. What if I wanted to like that damn character? WHAT IF KENNEDY?
River was a really likable character. She didn't annoy me or try to be vindictive towards anyone. She was genuinely a nice person and actually cared for Alex. I get that she was afraid to tell him that she was pregnant but she overcame that said fear and told him about it. Now I give mad props for Alex as well. He took being pregnant as the happiest freaking news ever. He didn't try to deny it at all. I really liked that about him. Then again he also didn't act vindictive or petty towards her. Yeah he was upset that she just randomly left him without a word or a reason.. but once he found out he definitely accepted it and moved on.
Now I loved their relationship. I also really liked how his family just accepted her. They were all so freaking adorable. Then the baby being named RILEY! OMG! I was so happy and I kind of figured out if she did have a kid.. that she would use that name.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I can't wait for the next one because I can already see it being funny or a hot mess. Bring it on Emily and Evan!

This is my first time reading a Kennedy Fox book. It wasn’t a bad read. It had some really funny parts and parts that you wanted to yell at the characters, but overall it was just ok.
The love story between River and Alex was a slow burn. When they had sex it was HOT, but the time in between was just blah. Alex was a gentleman cowboy that treated River like a queen. But I just didn’t feel the burn between them. I didn’t feel the love growing between them after they got together. You knew it was happening because the author told you so, but you didn’t feel it through the characters. Overall, it was an ok story, will I read book 2? I’ll give it a try.

I need a swoony, hard working cowboy like Alex in my life! Check that. I need Alex in my life!!
From the prologue alone and the feels it gave me, I knew I was in for a pretty great story. Taming Him is a really sweet start to Kennedy Fox's Bishop Brothers series. After meeting these hot charismatic cowboys in the author duo's Checkmate: This is Reckless and This is Effortless, I was more than ready to read their stories. I adored Courtney. There's no way I wouldn't love her brothers too.
Alex is the youngest Bishop brother. I don't want to call him a manwhore, but he's definitely a love 'em for a night and leave 'em just as fast type. When a vacation leads him from Texas to Key West he meets his match with the strong willed River Lancaster. What's supposed to be a 2 week vacation fling turns into a surprise they didn't see coming. I enjoyed Alex and River's connection. They're so good together. Whether it's parasailing in the keys or sharing a slice of chocolate cake at Mrs. Betty's, they seem to fit so effortlessly. Alex is so sweet and swoony. I can see how his charm could win women over. I love how River, with all her sass and stubbornness, challenges him. They're so good together.
I did have an issue one thing. First let me preface this with saying that I really liked this book. The writing is fast paced and easy to lose yourself in. Great characters and fun banter. It's definitely worth a pick up. That being said, I kept waiting for something to happen. I wish there was more drama or some sort of conflict. I feel like everything happened early. Part one was sexy and fun. Part two felt a little uneventful in comparison. I think Taming Him would be a perfect book to read right after a highly emotional angsty read. Maybe that's just me. I still liked it.
I looooved that epilogue though. I can not be more intrigued and excited to continue this series.

Ohhh this was such a FUN surprise pregnancy romance!! It was low angst and totally fit my mood.
Alex is the sweetest hero and I loved his reaction when River tells him she is pregnant.
I also enjoyed the other Bishop brothers and can't wait to know their stories.
Also, the narrators were perfect! The southern accents were done just right! And loved the spicy times!
