3.5 stars. Interesting short story about ethics of experimentation. Sometimes this made big leaps from one thing to another but not consistently so when it happened it just seemed quite disjointed from the rest of the story. Enjoyable but felt like a first draft and could be hugely improved upon

That was intense !

WOW
Einfach ...
Crass was auf so wenigen Seiten an stimmung geschaffen werden kann und dadurch erzählt werden kann.
Und eine wirklich gute Geschichte dazu.
Das ganze regt mich sehr zum Nachdenken an und ich denke es wird auch nicht das letzte gewesen sein was ich von ihr las.

A very interesting plot that had me reading the short story in one go.

Sadly this was not one of Du Maurier's best. I struggled to get into this one and in the end just gave up. I may attempt to re-read in the future.

This was a quick and intriguing read. I don't think that it captured my attention throughout the entire story and I would be lying if I understood the whole thing. It was an introduction to Daphne du Maurier though and maybe I will reread it soon in an environment where I won't get so distracted.
