i was really trying not to be skeptical as this was not something i'd usually read, alas i still could not invest myself fully in it.

i liked alice. hayden on the other hand, was much less interesting to me. margaret's stories were actually interesting, but that's the thing, whenever i got a little invested and wanted to swim deeper, i almost immediately got pulled back to the surface. it went shallow again. it went back to the cheesy first sight romance subplot of alice and hayden.

the two things that got me invested were alice's relationship w her mom as well as margaret and laura's sisterhood. but they did not even dig deeper onto that. well not as deep as i'd like it to be, at least.

I get bored with the sunny bubbly type books I was finding this to be. I’m sure it’s very good for the reader drawn to this type story. But it’s not for me.
