i became very attached to hayden, alice and margaret to the point that i wish it was longer. unlike the other reviews i enjoyed the story within the story while watching the romance unfold between hayden and alice. i always end up docking the rating on books though based on the endings because this one like others always end when i personally think their relationship is just beginning. it’s makes me sad but i get that’s the structure of romance books.

This is the best romance novel I've ever read. I do believe there were several contributing factors: Julia Whelan is my absolute favorite audiobook narrator, dual timeliness that lends to occasional historical fiction themes, perfectly timed humor. I fell in love with this one. My first Emily Henry book, and it will be hard to beat.
