This is the first Emily Henry couple that I truly don't buy. It isn't because I think they couldn't work or there's anything wrong with either MC its just that THE FUCKING OTHER PLOT TOOK UP SO MUCH OF THE STORY THAT YOU BARELY GOT THEM AT ALL?!?!? WYM YOU'RE IN LOVE???? YOU DONT KNOW HIM??

This feels like it was written just so a movie could be made with the last great american dynasty as the theme song. Did I hate it? no. But I'm also not obsessed and I'm fucking sad about it.

cute ending though. Just a bit to heavy on the Taylor Jenkins Reid/ dead romantics of it all, it didn't feel as authentically Emily Henry as everything else in her backlog.

I STILL LOVE THIS WOMAN THOUGH AND I REMAIN A STAN, ADMITTEDLY A V SAD ONE RN.

4.25 ⭐️ - I loved that this book was a little bit different from most contemporary romances. It had hints of mystery and surprise and didn’t have your classic outline of a contemporary romance. I continue to be pleasantly surprised by Emily Henry.
