I absolutely loved this book!!!! I enjoyed Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and immediately fell in love with Henry. So I was beyond excited to read this book that dives into Henry's life! I didn't want it to end! The history scattered throughout the novel was weaved into the story in an incredible way! I would definitely be re-reading this book and Henry Sturges is one of my all-time favorite vampires.
The end though, I kind of hope there will be more books with Henry involved ;)

This is what happens after Lincolns death in the first book.
We learn Henry's history; who he was, how he became a vampire and his life after Lincoln. The more things change, the more they stay the same. This all rings true throughout Henry's history lesson for us readers.
Lots of action like the first book; and always a quest to hunt down bad vamps.
I think the author should do a book on Van Helsing.

Not quite as good as the first—some story elements could have used a bit more development—but otherwise, a fun take on historical fiction.
Another fun little bit of historical fiction! Enjoyed some of the historical name drops throughout!
Vampires through history - for instance, they really caused the collapse of Roanoke Island, the Hindenberg fire, killed Rasputin and helped make the D-Day landing a success. Interesting notions but not much story.

I loved the first book, but didn't get far in this one before I realized that it's not vampires that tickle me so much as Abraham Lincoln as a vampire hunter. In the beginning of this book, Lincoln is briefly brought back from the dead as a vampire. But instead of being a vampire on a holy mission who needs human blood as fuel, he chooses suicide by sunshine.
