I don’t know how but the fantasy + islamic bit somehow worked? I knew this book was gonna be heavy with emotions once the author mentioned Amani lost her baby at the very beginning.

The mystical world of Lagenda really intrigued me but it was quite hard for me to picture how the doors actually work between Lagenda & the real world.

This book was also packed with lessons & reflections too because I definitely made used of my book tabs. All in all, I enjoyed it!

i was lucky enough to have read this prior to the release and even then it enchanted me even more than the author’s debut, inkling. definitely re-reading the finished copy soon but i just wanna come out here and give it the rating that it deserves!!!

dnf-ed. just felt like the characters are two dimensional and a lot of telling instead of showing. i actually came into the book quite excited about the plot but it didn’t manage to capture my attention. and like a fellow bookworm shared “the writing feels self-indulgent.”
